FAQ

My favorite book is not there, how come?

Hmm, maybe I never heard about it, maybe I am not there yet, and maybe I hate it.
I read a lot, but I am easily turned off. For instance, I dislike extreme political or religious views and of course hints of racism. You can be extreme in one small sentence of a legal thriller: I'll catch it and never read you again. I feel like the new head of GM, Fritz Henderson: he was teased on CNN into saying that he liked or rather disliked President Obama, and he answered "I am a citizen." I like that; it says everything about his sense of responsability and his respect of democracy. It is all I want to know about anybody we bail out and it is also what I expect from a good author. In other words,
I do not mind if an author does not share my ideas, why would he? But I do not read rabid intolerant people.

I easily forgive one factual mistake in a book (who does not make mistakes?) But make three when talking about a place I like, for instance Malta, and I'll never read you again. If you don't want to make the effort, talk about something you know.

On the other hand, I do not think that a list of books I do not like would be of any use to you: make your own! I do this to help you pick stuff you are going to like.

I have not done the interactive page yet, but please write to me in the meantime!
