I am a scientist. I have been a volunteer educator most of my life. The picture above was taken by photographer Stephen Berend when working for our local newspaper, the Savannah Morning News. I am consumed by books. I read two books a week, sometimes three books a day. I read anything, including what is on food packages. It is a disease. Not quite everything though : I do not read porn (not because it is dirty, but because it is boring); I do not read horror stuff (life is terrifying enough as it is) and I read very little romance (I like the real stuff better).
My best reads are no more than one thousand books. Here are my best moments.
